real? part I

I have been on a weird music rollercoaster lately.

I ended up completely emptying my itunes and ipod and replaced all my music with some weird stuff. I am not really sure where my music taste is going, or why this is happening but it has left me with some questions in my mind about the music industry. Some of which I find myself getting really worked up about and I can't really find a reason why, or a way to explain my reasons for it.

I wanted to mention some things that really caught my eye lately in this post.

The first of which is a post I came by on a forum. Scroll down to the last post on the page, made by nanshi. I dont really know why I wanted to share it, but I think it is deffinately worth a read if you have a spare few minutes. You can read it here

The second is a quote i found whilst doing a project, that I really felt inspired by. The quote is from Bangalter, a member of the group Daft Punk:

"We don't believe in the star system. We want the focus to be on the music. If we have to create an image, it must be an artificial image. That combination hides our physicality and also shows our view of the star system. It is not a compromise.

We're trying to separate the private side and the public side. It's just that we're a little bit embarrassed by the whole thing. We don't want to play this star system thing. We don't want to get recognised in the streets. Yes. Everyone has accepted us using masks in photos so far, which makes us happy. Maybe sometimes people are a little bit disappointed but that's the only way we want to do it. We think the music is the most personal thing we can give. The rest is just about people taking themselves seriously, which is all very boring sometimes"
I don't know what the point to this really was, they were just two things I wanted to share~
